Meet Orly arviv, PHD

Healing begins with being seen. I’m here to listen.

Orly Arviv, PHD is a somatic therapist in Brooklyn who treats PTSD, trauma, grief and anxiety.

You’re in the right place.

I'll guide you to connect with your body’s wisdom, moving beyond fight-or-flight to rediscover your true essence—the place where joy and expansion naturally live

I believe that within each of us lies a unique magic—a blend of strengths, resilience, and untapped potential. It lives along side (and sometimes beneath) pain, darkness and hurt. Life’s challenges can sometimes cloud that magic, leaving us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. Therapy offers a space to reconnect with your inner wisdom, transform pain into growth, and create a life that feels truly fulfilling.

My style

Your story matters, and I’m here to help you explore it with curiosity and compassion.

Clients often tell me that my warm and grounded demeanor helps them feel at ease from the very first session. While I was originally trained in the psychodynamic tradition, which emphasizes deep listening for themes, patterns, and affect, my style has evolved into something uniquely my own—an approach informed by somatic therapy, parts work, spirituality, and a strong focus on practicality.

In our sessions, I combine the art of listening with an active, collaborative process. I don’t just hear your words—I tune into the subtleties of your body language, nervous system responses, and posture. These non-verbal cues often hold important pieces of the story, offering insights that words alone can’t always reveal. Together, we’ll explore your patterns, emotions, and the different parts of yourself, uncovering both the places where you feel stuck and the inner strengths that will guide your healing.

I aim to create a space for deeper reflection on the meaning and purpose behind life’s challenges. And because healing doesn’t happen in isolation, I’m deeply practical, helping you integrate insights into your daily life in ways that feel empowering and sustainable.

Therapy with me is about creating a safe and supportive space where you can explore, grow, and transform. It’s not about me handing you tools or advice (although this does happen at time)—it’s about building a relationship where you feel seen, understood, and ready to step into the life you want.
